PIECE OF CREATIVE WORK

I took this photo with my best friend when we just arrived at Australia. These are just two shadows in this picture. One is my friends’, another is mine. Friendship is very simple, just like the shadows. They are parallel with each other, they respect for each other. Once we stand under the sun together, our shadow will present together.

PHOTOGRAPH OF SOMETHING BEAUTIFUL

I took this picture when I was in Philips Island. Nature is the most intelligent artist in the world. In this picture, sunshine, wave, rocks and cloud are four major elements. Although the picture is in static state, however, wave and cloud are visual dynamic . From this picture, we can see the violent and peaceful face of nature. This is natural harmoy.

AN IMAGE OF A GREAT PIECE OF ARCHITECTURE

This is Habitat’67. And the designer is Moshe Safdie. Safdie was just 29 when he designed Habitat’67. He hopes his vision can bring an end to the claustrophobia and uniformity of modern urban living. Habitat’67, picturesquely located in the harbor of Montreal’s St. Lawrence River, was designed as the city of future. Additionally, the theme of Montreal World Expo of 1967 was “habitat’, this is why this project named Habitat’67. The entire structure consists of more than 350 prefab blocks, or “modulus”, and 150 apartments are created. These apartments range in size from between one and eight blocks. The whole construction system of stacked modular units was successful but proved prohibitively expensive. Safdie placed the apartments in a seemingly disorder manner, but when viewed from certain angles it becomes apparent that the overall shape is that of series of pyramids.
